Magnitude-5.5 quake hits parts of Mindanao
DAVAO CITY – A magnitude 5.5-earthquake jolted parts of Mindanao on Sunday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Based on its earthquake bulletin released at 11:25 a.m., the epicenter was plotted at 96 kilometers east of Manay, Davao Oriental, and had a depth of 101 kilometers.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin.
Intensity III was felt in Malungon, Sarangani; Intensity II in Alabal and Kiamba, Sarangani; Intensity I in Koronadal City and Tupi in South Cotabato.
Phivolcs said aftershocks are expected.
